Dear Marcy,
Career Day is coming and we NEED volunteers!
Before you hit 'delete' please read on . . .

I just came from Pasteur where we had alumni and other volunteers read and speak to classes about Earth Day. See who spoke in the left column.
Earth Day and Career Day are always a hit with volunteers. Everyone has a great experience with the kids.
Now, we need 20 volunteers for CAREER DAY on Thursday morning May 7.

What does this involve?

Spend 25 minutes (including Q & A) speaking about your education and your career. How did you decide on your career path? Did someone inspire you?
We need you to emphasize how important it is to stay in school, be a good student, work well with others. It doesn't matter what your career is or was. We need you to help inspire these kids to succeed.

Just hit 'reply'and tell me what time and grade you would like.
The grades are K - 6. Time from 9 am - Noon. Want to do 2 classes or bring a friend? Terrific!
These photos are from this morning! Fresh! Scroll down for more news!

Please respond ASAP!

Contintental Breakfast included!

DIARY OF ANNE FRANK TRIP

In March we sponsored a trip for the 6th graders to see a live performance of The Diary of Anne Frank by the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. A week later I led a discussion with the class about the Holocaust. Some of the questions were: "What is a Jew?" "Is the Klu Klux Klan still around?" "Is Issis the new Nazis?" "Why would someone want to be a Nazi?" It was fascinating.

They were very interested in receiving a copy of the book which we gave to each student thanks to all of you.
I hope that you can join us on Career Day to share the experience of knowing these students. Simply reply to this email with the time you are available and how many classes you would like. By the way, the younger kids are great too!
